The client’s objective was to build a house that could host large family gatherings, funerals, etc. The family house comprises of a living area, kitchen, a dining area, ensuite bedrooms, a master bedroom and a study. The family house is located in Juaben in the Ashanti Region.
The Site had no access to portable water or a sewage treatment system. The design employed the use of a borehole for the supply of water and a bio-digester to treat solid waste from the property. Suspended slabs with a grid of wooden posts frame the envelope of the building. A circular themed garden was designed to connect the private family garden located on the west end of the property and the public park at the east end of the property.
