The purpose of the project was to create a retirement home for an aging family who had to relocate to their hometown. The Captain’s Bridge had a living area, kitchen, bedrooms, master bedroom, a study and laundry. The site of the residence can be located at winneba in the Central Region. The site gets waterlogged after rains due to the clayey nature of the soil. There is also nearby drains and no central sewage system within the context of the locality.   In solving the problem of a waterlogged site with clayey soil, a French drain system was created to aid dewatering of the site. Multiple drywells were installed along the periphery of the site to collect and hold rainwater. A bio -digester system was installed to treat solid waste.
